Due to the public health threat created by COVID-19, on March 11th, Governor John Bel Edwards declared a public health emergency in the State of Louisiana. In addition, just two days later on March 13th, President Trump declared a national emergency. State and local officials, along with President Trump recommended that social gatherings be limited to no more than 10 people in accordance with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines. In Louisiana, Governor Edwards ordered all schools in the state closed until further notice.
